With production scheduled to begin next month in South Africa, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has brought in Ali Larter to portray Claire Redfield. This final installment of the Resident Evil franchise will be Ali Larter's third time portraying Claire Redfield, following 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction and 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife. Milla Jovovich is coming back as Alice, but no other cast members have been officially confirmed at this point.

Production on this sequel has been delayed a few times, following the 2012 release of Resident Evil: Retribution. Filming was supposed to begin on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in the fall of 2013, but that never came to pass. Last year, Milla Jovovich announced on her Facebook page that shooting was being pushed by one year, due to the actress' pregnancy. Production is still slated to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, which is where pre-production was taking place when the delay was announced.

Last month, Milla Jovovich shared the first photo from the Resident Evil 6 set as pre-production got under way. Resident Evil: Retribution stars Wentworth Miller (Chris Redfield), Bingbing Li (Ada Wong), Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine) and Johann Urb (Leon Scott Kennedy) are expected to reprise their roles for this action-thriller based on the hit video game franchise. Paul W.S. Anderson is returning to direct his fourth Resident Evil movie, working from a script he wrote.

Paul W.S. Anderson is producing with Constantin Film's Robert Kulzer, Impact Pictures' Jeremy Bolt and Davis-Films' Samuel Hadida. The Resident Evil franchise has earned over $915 million worldwide over five films, 2002's Resident Evil, 2004's Resident Evil: Apocalypse, 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction, 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife and 2012's Resident Evil: Retribution. This final installment should easily push the video game franchise to over $1 billion worldwide.

Ali Larter most recently starred on the big screen in You're Not You and Lovesick, and she will next be seen in The Diabolical, arriving in theaters this October. On the small screen, she recently starred on TNT's Legends alongside Sean Bean. Are you glad that Claire Redfield is coming back for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter?
