Nearly 15 years after the franchise first started, Milla Jovovich will finally close out her iconic character Alice's story with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. As we get closer and closer to the January 27, 2017 release date, Sony Pictures has debuted a new motion poster, featuring a new look at Alice, who seemingly needs to invest in some flame-retardant pants, as it seems the lower half of her body is on fire. While this movie will mark the end of Alice's story, it remains to be seen whether or not she will actually survive.

Sony Pictures debuted the motion poster on Twitter earlier today, which, at the very least, teases that Alice will have to survive quite the fiery fight if she wants to be standing at the end of this franchise finale. The first trailer debuted last month, and the second trailer could be just around the corner. Sony Pictures and Screen Gems have confirmed that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be heading to New York Comic Con, with Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter set to attend along with new cast member William Levy and writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began - Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters.

Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker's hand and Umbrella's impending attack, this will be Alice's most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion. Beloved characters such as Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), Leon Scott Kennedy (Johann Urb), Ada Wong (Li Bingbing), and her daughter Becky (Aryanna Engineer), while continuing an uneasy alliance with the former head of Umbrella, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts). Along the way, they will reconnect with former comrades Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and Kmart (Spencer Locke). Their epic battle will lead them back to where it all began in the dark mansion built by Umbrella founder Lord Ozwell E. Spencer and the deep underground research and development center known as The Hive, where The Red Queen plots total destruction over the human race.

New cast members include Iain Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, alongside Ruby Rose as Abigail, Jun-ki Lee as Lee, Eoin Macken as Doc, William Levy as Christian, Fraser James as Michael and Japanese model Rola as Cobalt. Paul W.S. Anderson directs from his own screenplay and serves as producer alongside Jeremy Bolt, Robert Kulzer and Samuel Hadida. Martin Moszkowicz and Victor Hadida serve as executive producers for this franchise finale.
