With the January 27 release date getting closer and closer, two new clips from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter have just arrived. The first of these new videos features Alice Abernathy investigating a room, when she realizes she's not alone, with several monitors turning on, showcasing the nefarious Red Queen. For this final installment of the long-running series, the Red Queen is actually played played by Ever Anderson, the eight-year-old daughter of Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson, in her acting debut. Here's what Milla Jovovich had to say during a live Facebook Q&A in August, when her daughter asked what it was like to work with her.

"It was so amazing to work with you. You are [an] unbelievably talented actress, more talented than I've ever been. It was an honor and a privilege to work with you. You're such a great listener and you understand what it is to be real and natural and organic, and I give you so much kudos for that... you keep impressing me every single day."

The clip, which comes courtesy of Sony Pictures Japan, features the Red Queen revealing that her satellites show that there are 4,472 humans still alive on Earth, but in less than 48 hours, they will all be dead. When Alice asks if she's only here to gloat, the Red Queen makes a surprising admission, that she actually wants Alice to stop her. The second clip features Alice stopping Doc (Eoin Macken) from administering an adrenaline shot, taking him as her hostage, while Christian (William Levy) screams that they should have killed her while they had the chance. Doc tells Alice that he needed her awake to tell her that something bad is coming, before Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) arrives and realizes it's Alice who is taking Doc hostage.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began - The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. The cast also includes Ruby Rose, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Jun-ki Lee, Rola and Fraser James. This franchise finale will go up against Warner Bros.' Bastards, Universal's A Dog's Purpose and The Weinstein Company's Gold when it hits theaters on January 27.

The first five movies haven't been huge hits at the domestic box office, with 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife earning a franchise best $60.1 million. The franchise has always been quite strong internationally, though, with Resident Evil: Afterlife taking in $296.2 million worldwide from a $60 million budget, and the last installment, Resident Evil: Retribution earning $42.3 million domestic and $197.8 million internationally for a global total of $240.1 million, from a $65 million budget. Paul W.S. Anderson directs Resident Evil: The Final Chapter from his own screenplay and serves as producer alongside Jeremy Bolt, Robert Kulzer and Samuel Hadida.
