It seems a Bill Clinton-era political drama is getting a new director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Richard Loncraine is taking over directing duties for Peter Morgan in the film The Special Relationship.

The film would have marked Morgan's directorial debut and it wasn't clear why Morgan pulled out from directing duties, but HBO Films had said that Morgan would, "integrally involved in every aspect of the production" in his roles as writer and executive producer.

The production is still scheduled to start production on July 20 in London. Dennis Quaid stars as President Bill Clinton, Michael Sheen will portray Prime Minister Tony Blair, Julianne Moore will play Hillary Clinton and Helen McCrory will portray Cherie Blair.
