Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to make her return to the small screen in Ringer for CBS. The hour-long drama will follow a young woman who is on the run from the mob.

The pilot has just been given the greenlight, with production starting soon. In the show, Gellar will unwittingly assume the role of her wealthy twin sister, only to discover that her sibling has an ungodly price on her head. It is being reported that Sarah Michelle will be playing both the lead character and the twin sister.

The series comes from Supernatural writers Eric C. Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, and it will be co-executive produced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. This will be Gellar's first television stint since leaving Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003.
