20th Century Fox has made some release date shifts, moving Rio from April 8 to April 15 and Water for Elephants from April 15 to April 22.

The switch was made after Warner Bros. moved the Steve Carell comedy Crazy Stupid Love out of the April 22 slot and into the summertime with a new July 29 date. Both Fox movies are now positioned closer to the Easter holiday, which falls on April 24 next year.

In related news, The Playlist reports that Roadside Attractions has moved the Alejandro González Iñárritu drama Biutiful back a month from December 29 to January 28. The change will eliminate it from Oscar contention, although it is possible that the movie could still have an awards-qualifying run in late December and then hit additional theaters on January 28.
