Robert Urich passed away on at 1:25 am on Tuesday, April 15th, 2002. Urich was best known for his television roles as Spenser in Spenser: For Hire (1985-1988), Dan Tanna in Vega$ (1978-1981,) and Peter Campbell in Soap.

Urich's acting career spanned 30 years with varied parts in television and movies. He received an Emmy in 1992 for his narration of the documentary U-Boats: Terror on Our Shores. Also in 1992, he received the Cable ACE award for hosting the National Geographic series On Assignment. Urich was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995.

Urich's battle with cancer began in 1996, when he announced he was suffering from synovial cell sarcoma, a rare cancer that attacks the body's joints.
