Rob Lowe has signed on to star in Paramount's live-action/CGI hybrid comedy Monster Trucks. We first reported on this project back in February, when Jane Levy and Lucas Till were circling roles in the project. They have now been confirmed, along with Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Holt McCallany, Thomas Lennon and Barry Pepper.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but our report from February revealed that Lucas Till is playing a bad boy with a good heart, while Jane Levy's character was described as a high school version of Tina Fey.

Chris Wedge (Ice Age: Continental Drift) is directing from a script by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger (Kung Fu Panda). Paramount has already set a May 29, 2015 release date for Monster Trucks.

Rob Lowe most recently starred in the HBO TV movie Behind the Candelabra, and he will next be seen in the summer comedy Sex Tape.
