Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan have signed on to star in Life for director Anton Corbijn (The American, Joy Division).

The project is based on the true story of photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson), who became fast friends with screen legend James Dean (Dane DeHaan) after he was assigned to take his photograph.

Anton Corbijn, a noted photographer in his own right, is directing from a screenplay by Luke Davies (Candy), with Iain Canning and Iain Glen producing through their See-Saw Films company, alongside First Generation Films' Christina Piovesan. Production is scheduled to begin this fall, with FilmNation shopping the project to international distributors at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Robert Pattinson will next be seen in The Rover, Queen of the Desert and Maps to the Stars. Dane DeHaan stars in the upcoming Metallica Through the Never, Kill Your Darlings and next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
