Machete director Robert Rodriguez was reportedly interested in directing the X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off film Deadpool. Now, Rodriguez has spoken about the film to The Los Angeles Times. Here is what he had to say:

"It's a great script and a great property. I'm just working everything out."

Rodriguez is very enthusiastic about the script from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland), which will bring the "merc with the mouth" from Marvel Comics to the big screen in his own film adventure.

Rodriguez told the site that he is still taking meetings with Fox to direct the film, which would star Ryan Reynolds, reprising his role from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Rodriguez also said he was still weighing his options on what film he will direct next.

He is currently choosing between three projects for his next directing job. Along with Deadpool, it was said that he is also considering the long-awaited Sin City 2 sequel, as well as another film entiteld Nerveracker, a futuristic thriller.
