Robert Schwentke to Direct Ryan Reynolds in ‘R.I.P.D.’

Robert Schwentke to Direct Ryan Reynolds in ‘R.I.P.D.’

Robert Schwentke is set to direct R.I.P.DRobert Schwentke has been tapped to direct Universal's supernatural actioner R.I.P.D., based on Peter M. Lenkov's Dark Horse comic about a police department of the dead.

According to Variety, Ryan Reynolds is already attached to star in R.I.P.D., which is centered on two officers -- one recently dead and one who's been dead for hundreds of years.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi are writing the screenplay.

No production date has been set.

R.I.P.D. was released July 19th, 2013.

    Red looks to be great, so I hope if it turns out to be. If it does, he should be a good choice for this film!
