In a story from The Hollywood Reporter Robert Zemeckis is currently in talks with Disney to direct a remake of Yellow Submarine.

The original film, based on music by the Beatles, came out in 1968.

Disney isn't saying much right now as they attempt to grab "the rights to the music to the film." Some of the songs in the movie are "Eleanor Rigby," "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," and "When I'm Sixty-Four."

Should Zemeckis take on the project it will feature performance capture. It will also be done in digital 3D.

The film follows a soldier called Old Fred. He hooks up with the Beatles and travels with them in a yellow submarine to Pepperland.
