When the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story dropped last month, it started a new wave of speculation about the iconic Star Wars villain Darth Vader, and his place in the story. There have long been rumors that Darth Vader will have a presence in this spinoff, which makes sense since the story takes place between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and the 1977 classic that started it all, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In the trailer, fans are given a glimpse at a mysterious cloaked figure from behind, whose face we can't see, but who many are speculating is in fact Darth Vader himself. While we don't have confirmation on who this character is quite yet, a new companion book may have confirmed the Sith Lord's presence once and for all.

The online book catalog Edelweis has debuted a full 15-page preview from their new book Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: The Official Visual Story Guide, which is set to debut on the same day the movie hits theaters, December 16. One of the pages in this preview features artwork that prominently displays the iconic Darth Vader, who is positioned directly between a group of Rebels lead by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and the villainous Empire. This photo also gives us a fresh look at Ben Mendelsohn, whose character is revealed to be Director Krennic, described as the military director of the Empire, who must defend the Galactic Empire against the Rebels' mission to steal the Death Star plans.

The artwork also gives us a glimpse at new X-Wing fighter designs, along with two new ships, the Tie Striker and the Rebel Starfighter, also known as the U-Wing. We also get another look at the Death Troopers, who are seen clad in all black, flanking Director Krennic, along with a group of Imperial Stormtroopers and a new Enforcer Droid known as the K-250 (Alan Tudyk), who eventually teams with the Rebels. This book also features a detailed look inside the Death Star itself, and that's just from a 15-page preview of this 164-page book, which will include 130 full color photos.

The artwork also sheds new light on the "Heroes of the Rebel Alliance," revealing new character names that haven't been released yet. Diego Luna plays Captain Cassian Andor, an officer in the Rebel Alliance, Jiang Wen plays Baze, a freelance assassin, Riz Ahmed plays the Rebel soldier Bodhi and Donnie Yen plays Chirrut, described as a spiritual warrior. The book also reveals two new alien creatures, Pao and Bistan, who are both described as "fierce warriors."

Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) directs Rogue One: A Star Wars Story from a script by Chris Weitz, based on a story by Gary Whitta and John Knoll. The movie is set to hit theaters on December 16, going up against Warner Bros.' Collateral Beauty, which stars Will Smith, Edward Norton and Keira Knightley. We don't know for sure when the next trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will debut, but until then, you can check out the photos from this Official Visual Story Guide.
