While Disney claimed it would have a major presence at yesterday's Super Bowl, they didn't drop the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as some suspected. Instead, it will come at a later date. But no one is quite sure when that will happen. We have a new report that claims we may see some of the first merchandise before we even see any footage. But this has not been confirmed by anyone at LucasFilm or Disney.

It's unclear if we'll get another Force Friday event like the one for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which saw a tidal wave of new merchandise hit store shelves this past September. But we could see the first Rogue One: A Star Wars Story toys and other items as soon as this June. That means merchandise for this Star Wars spinoff is set to hit quite a bit earlier than Star Wars: The Force Awakens did by three months.

It has already been confirmed by Hasbro that we will not see the first wave of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story action figures at next weekend's New York Toy Fair. But Vandor LLC will be bringing some of their wares from the movie to show off, though we don't know what these items will be just yet. The merch in question could give us a new look at characters not yet revealed, and we may even learn some surprising new plot details.

Further adding to the speculation that we'll get our first Rogue One: A Star Wars Story items this summer is the fact that the official calendar for the movie is available for pre-sale on Amazon. We don't get to see the cover of this calendar, or any of the photos that it will contain within. But we do get the promise that it will arrive in just 5 months time, debuting on June 1. This will be a full 6 months before the movie is in theaters.

You may recall that last year, star Donnie Yen revealed three Stormtrooper helmets that will be used in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Among these were a black helmet said to belong to the 'Death Troopers'. This particular helmet will accompany the first wave of Rogue One action figures and toys as it's official logo. There will of course be other new Stormtrooper action figures coming from the spinoff. The newest Trooper is being referred to as codename: Shark Yellow. You can see it in the image below. It is off-white/yellow in color and has a red symbol on its visor. The costume itself will be a mix of old and new, borrowing from Scout Trooper and Stormtrooper parts. On the set, these soldiers were being referred to as Sandtroopers, which is a term we've heard used before. The new Sandtrooper is said to have many soft costume elements, and has chest armor that is very similar to the Scout Trooper, though it is more narrow around the hips. It has the same kneepads as the classic 1977 Stormtrooper.

The black Stormtrooper helmet seen in the image below is being referred to as the Death Trooper. The actors wearing this armor are all said to be 6'3" or taller, giving them a strong imposing stature. They also have green lights inside their helmets around the 'speaker'. One confusing element is that the Death Troopers will be accompanied by the classic Black Stormtrooper armor we've seen before, but they will be distantly different in style. While we don't have any of the new merchandise to show you, you can see the previously revealed helmets here, once again. What do you think?
