Ron Howard will direct an adaptation of the Jill Bolte Taylor book My Stroke of Insight for Sony Pictures, according to Deadline New York.

Semi Chellas will adapt the book for Ron Howard and his Imagine Entertainment banner and it was said that Jodie Foster was being considered to star in the project. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will produce.

The non-fiction book revolves around the author, a neuro-anatomist who at the age of 37 suffered a massive stroke after a blood vessel exploded in her brain and, within a matter of hours, she lost all motor functions and couldn't walk, read, write or recall past memories. It took her 8 years to heal and she used her knowledge of the brain's fuctions to write about her experiences while still healing.

The site revealed that Jodie Foster isn't attached to the project at this time. No production schedule was given for the movie.
