Ryan Reynolds is currently in negotiations for a starring role in the new film Safe House, according to Deadline New York. We reported last week that Reynolds was considered as the top choice for the role and now it seems he will be a part of the film.

It was said that not only are Reynolds' reps negotiating his deal for the film, but also trying to fit it in his exceedingly busy schedule. Reynolds will start shooting The Change-Up for director David Dobkin in October and, if the scheduling works out, Reynolds would likely shoot Safe House early next year after The Change-Up has wrapped.

Daniel Espinosa is directing Safe House from a David Guggenheim script, with Denzel Washington attached to star. The film centers on a young FBI agent, played by Reynolds, who has to escort a ruthless prisoner (Washington) to safety after their safe house comes under attack.

The site is also reporting that Reynolds would likely shoot either Deadpool or R.I.P.D. next year as well, and that, since Reynolds wants to make both films, one would have to follow the other sometime in 2011.
