Salma Hayek has signed on to join the voice cast of Sony's Sausage Party, alongside Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jonah Hill.

The actress will lend her voice to Teresa the Taco in this animated R-rated comedy, which centers on a sausage who falls out of his shopping cart, sending him on a journey with other lost food items as they try to get back to their aisles in the supermarket before the dreaded 4th of July sale. Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz and Kristen Wiig round out the voice cast.

Conrad Vernon (Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted) and Greg Tiernan are directing from a script by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shafir, based on an original story by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill. Sony is eyeing a 2015 release date for the comedy, which Evan Goldberg revealed in October is an, "an existential mock-Pixar movie" that is "very R-rated."

Salma Hayek most recently appeared in Muppets Most Wanted and Grown Ups 2.
