The Angelina Jolie action film Salt is still in theaters, currently at over $150 million worldwide and, according to The Los Angeles Times, a sequel could possibly happen.

The site reports that screenwriter Kurt Wimmer has, "ideas for how to advance the story," and director Phillip Noyce was reportedly also interested in directing a sequel. Star Angelina Jolie also wants to return and doesn't have a commitment to another film as of now. Noyce also doesn't have another film lined up at this time.

Apparently, Sony wants to see how the film performs in international markets before moving forward with a sequel. The film will open in U.K., Germany and South American markets in the upcoming weeks.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on a Salt sequel as soon as we have more information.
