Samuel L. Jackson Is ‘The Samaritan’

The actor will star as an ex-con trying to rebuild his life when he gets caught up in the illegal activities of his young protege.

Samuel L. Jackson will play The SamaritanSamuel L. Jackson has been set to star in The Samaritan for H20 Motion Pictures. Luke Kirby and Ruth Negga will co-star. Take a look at the official synopsis below, from the H20 Motion Pictures official website.

"After twenty years in prison, Foley (Jackson) is finished with the grifter's life. When he meets an elusive young woman named Iris (Negga), the possibility of a new start looks real. But his past is proving to be a stubborn companion: Ethan (Kirby), the son of his former partner, has an ingenious plan and he wants Foley in. The harder he tries to escape his past, the tighter he is ensnared in Ethan's web of secrets, until it becomes all too clear to Foley that some wrongs can never be made right."

Canadian director David Weaver will helm the project, which begins production on Sunday. Filming will take place in Toronto and Rio de Janeiro. Andras Hamori will produce with Mark Musselman attached as executive producer.

It isn't clear when The Samaritan will be released.

The Samaritan was released May 18th, 2012.

    Saw the movie - good one. Samuel L. is at the top of his game playing a newly released ex con trying to live the straight life. See how his life changes after he runs into his partner's son.... Really worth watching -

          The title could use some work, though. I'd have to throw this in the running for worst titles ever, along with The American and The Town.

            Although the story is cliche, this is a very nice take on something that's been done before. Sounds cool.
