DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns revealed earlier today through his Twitter account that he is working on the Sandman TV series with Neil Gaiman. Here's what Geoff Johns had to say.

"Correction to world: The Sandman is AWAKE! :) Psyched to be working with @neilhimself on developing one of the greatest series ever! Sandman in any form - comics to live action - doesn't work without @neilhimself #sandman."

The news comes just one day after Supernatural creator Eric Kripke said the project was dead. Eric Kripke had originally been set to adapt the Neil Gaiman comic book series and, after his comments, it seemed the project was stalled, at the very least. Now it's clear this project is still in development, although it likely won't be ready for this upcoming season.

It isn't clear if Geoff Johns and Neil Gaiman are writing the pilot script themselves, or if they are seeking out other writers to adapt the comic book series.
