In July, it was announced that Lionsgate is prepping the highly-anticipated Saw sequel entitled Legacy, with production set to begin this fall in Toronto. It seems that filming has already begun, as the first two set photos arrive, teasing some intriguing developments about the iconic character Jigsaw, portrayed by Tobin Bell. There will be potential SPOILERS below for Saw 8, so read on at your own risk.

Bloody-Disgusting reports that filming has begun, although no cast members have been confirmed, and no plot details have surfaced on Saw 8 quite yet. The site was sent two photos by a reader, which showcases John Kramer, a.k.a. Jigsaw's grave that has been dug up by someone, with the coffin sticking out of the ground. Why has this grave has been dug up? And who wanted to unearth Jigsaw's body?

John Kramer died in Saw III, but he was featured in all of the other Saw movies through a series of flashbacks. The last installment of this horror franchise, 2010's Saw 3D, revealed that Jigsaw had a legion of followers, who spread his message to appreciate the life you have, long after he had passed away. It's possible that these photos indicate that Jigsaw may be resurrected somehow in Saw 8.

The Sperig Brothers, Peter and Michael Spierig, will direct this horror sequel. We reported in February that Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger were brought on to write the script, although no story details have been revealed. It isn't known if Tobin Bell will be back to reprise his iconic role as Jigsaw, but with the emergence of this photo, it seems likely that the actor will return.

Oren Kroules and Mark Burg will produce, with Dan Heffner and Peter Block serving as executive producers. Our earlier report revealed that production will start in Toronto between September 12 and October 21. The first seven films in the Saw franchise have grossed $415.9 million domestically and $873.3 million worldwide, from a combined budget of $57 million, although that figure doesn't include the budget for Saw IV, which remains unknown. It remains to be seen whether or not this iconic villain has what it takes to terrify audiences after an extended hiatus. Take a look at the first two set photos from Saw Legacy.
