Warner Bros. Is very close to unleashing their latest DC Comics movie on the world when Suicide Squad drops next month. The studio and fans have very high hopes for the movie after the massive disappointment that was Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Suicide Squad boasts a massive

{ensemble cast, and we know who most of the stars a playing in the movie, but some elements of the cast remain a mystery. One of the mysteries may have finally been solved though, as it looks like Scott Eastwood's mystery role in Suicide Squad may have finally been revealed.

This needs to be taken with a pretty big grain of salt, but according to a report from a German website named https://www.cinemaxx.de/Programm/Film/Suicide-Squad/22599?SwitchCinemaId=76|Cinemaxx, Scott Eastwood is playing a character named Lieutenant "GQ" Edwards. The character is said to be under the command of Task Force X leader Rick Flagg, who is being played by Joel Kinnaman, but is not actually a part of the task force himself. The name "GQ" Edwards doesn't appear to have any real significance in terms of DC Comics lore, so that could mean a couple of different things.

The first option is that Eastwood is simply playing a military leader of sorts who has been brought in to help with the mission. It isn't totally out of the realm of possibility that even though Eastwood is a reasonably big name in Hollywood right now that he may be playing a relatively small role in Suicide Squad. A similar thing happened with Jena Malone in Batman V Superman. She was cast in the movie and all of her scenes were cut from the theatrical release. Once the Ultimate Edition was released and her scenes were revealed, it turned out that she was simply playing a scientist who worked at S.T.A.R. labs.

The other option is that the name "GQ" Edwards is an intentional bit of misdirection, and that Eastwood is actually playing a bigger role that Warner Bros. wants to keep under wraps. There has been a lot of speculation that he is playing the mercenary known as Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson. The character originally appeared as a Teen Titans but moved on to become one of the more prominent villains in all of DC Comics. Eastwood definitely has the look to play Wilson, and it is a character that Warner Bros. will very likely introduce at some point. It just remains to be seen if that will be sooner rather than later.

It is also very possible that this report from Cinamaxx is straight up wrong, and that we still have no idea who Scott Eastwood is playing in Suicide Squad. The movie centers around a band of villains who get recruited by a secret government agency to carry out black ops missions that nobody else is willing or able to do. Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer and stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Cara Delevingne, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis and Ike BarinHoltz. Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
