According to Variety, Will & Grace star Sean Hayes and his Hazy Mills Prods. partner Todd Milliner have pacted with Walden Media for a bigscreen comedy for Hayes to star in.
Walden Media execs are looking for a writer for the untitled comedy about a social misfit who seems like he'll finally be free of his domineering mother, until her soul leaps into his body right after her fatal accident.
Hayes said he hopes to make the film on a hiatus from his NBC sitcom.
He'll spend his upcoming hiatus making Simon Says, a Revolution comedy set up last year by producers Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Eric Gold. Script's about to be delivered by Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn; Hayes will star in it when his sitcom wraps its seventh season in March.
"The models for me were John Ritter and Martin Short on TV and Steve Martin and Jerry Lewis in the movies," said Hayes, who played the latter in the CBS telepic "Martin and Lewis."
