Seann William Scott has joined Sam Fell's upcoming comedic action film Skiptrace. Jackie Chan and Bingbing Fan are already attached to star.

The project is based on an original idea by Jackie Chan and centers on Hong Kong detective Bennie Black. The officer has been searching for crime boss Victor Wong for ten years. His search escalates when his young niece Bai (Bingbing Fan) gets herself into trouble with the crime syndicate, forcing him to call on an American Gambler named Connor Watts (Seann William Scott) to help him in his search.

Exclusive Media's Co-Chairmen Nigel Sinclair had this to say about the addition.

"Being part of great movies such as 'Role Models,' 'The Rundown' and the iconic 'American Pie' franchise will position Seann perfectly as Jackie Chan's co-star."

Talent International Film Co., Ltd.'s President Esmond Ren expressed his excitement for the project.

"We are very excited to have Seann on board this project, and know that his chemistry with Jackie will make for a unique pairing that has never been seen before. Seann is well loved by our Chinese audience for his stand-out performance in the 'American Pie' films, as well as his good looks!"

Seann William Scott most recently took part in Courteney Cox's dramedy Just Before I Go, where he played a suicidal man who goes back to visits his hometown before he presumably ends his life.

David Gerson is producing alongside Jackie Chan, Exclusive Media and Talent International. Academy Award nominated director Sam Fell will helm. Production is slated to begin January 13, 2014.
