Sheldon Turner has inked a deal with Sony Pictures to adapt Richard Clarke's action novel Scorpion's Gate, with Jennifer Klein to produce.

The book is set in a fallen Saudi Arabia, where a rebel regime takes over the country and is close to developing a nuclear bomb. The story centers on an American intelligence analyst, a British intelligence agent and a general who work to prevent a worldwide nuclear war.

The author is a former intelligence and counter-terrorism official for the U.S. Government.

Sheldon Turner and Jennifer Klein are currently developing Everest with director Doug Liman.
