Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox have agreed to provide their likenesses and voices for Transformers: The Game, which is coming from Activision on June 19th. The game, based on the feature film, will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS and PC.

Activision was given an all-access pass to the source material by the film's director Michael Bay and his creative team as the game was being developed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Activision's Daniel Suarez says, "Having this type of access was vital to be able to capture the transformations from robot to vehicle and ensure that it was in sync with the movie. Additionally, with the help of Ian Bryce and Mark Vahradian, producers on the film, we were able to secure the actual ILM models."

LaBeouf says that being in a video game is one of the highlights of his career, "From the moment I first saw Activision was on set to create video games based on the film, I wanted to be part of this project. I've played the game, and it's awesome. Fans will be able to choose a side and explore, and destroy, the world from the movie."

Original Transformers TV writer Flint Dille was brought on to write the game's script, which delves beyond the action in the film. Suarez went on to say that, "The film focuses on three separate human story lines that intersect one another, while the game focuses less on the human perspective and more on the story of the Transformers coming to Earth and their search for the All Spark. Each faction (Autobots and Decepticons) has its own group of playable characters and gives the player the ability to play with over nine different Transformers characters."

Transformers opens this July 4th, 2007. The game comes out June 19th.
