@diaigma That is very true. I guess I never gave it much thought but I would be ok with Ender being younger in any sequels. They would be less likely to alienate the non-built audience members who don't really know about the books if they went that route.

@skywise - I'd be okay with that. Granted, since they upped the age for Ender in the film, they could also lower it for the next? (The purist in me is screaming HELL NO, but you gotta let the movie be its own thing or you'll ruin it for yourself) :P

@diaigma If the movie is successful, it might be easier to do sequels based on Bean and Petra rather than the jarring jump into Speaker.

@skywise - I think so, too. I love how folks complain that we haven't seen Bean yet. Why show the best part of this series right off the bat? Save it for the screen :P

@diaigma Well that would make sense since the stories are concurrent.

@skywise - Ender's Shadow, the first Shadow book.

@skywise - they will blend two books into one, as I understand it - Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow (Bean's POV). I'm not going into this expecting a perfect adaptation (like that ever happens), but I do hope it stands on its own and gets the message across as strongly :P

@diaigma It would be hard to mess this up if they have a script that sticks close to the original story. I hope the twist ending is intact...and that for those who do not know it, wont see it coming a mile away.

Hard to judge from the previews how that will work.

@skywise - since he's calling the shots, not Fox, I bet this will be fine :P

I really love the series of novels this is based on. Gavin Hood has a lot to prove after that Origins fiasco.
