There are certain things that, for various reasons, we're never going to see in the superhero movie world. One of those things being a massive Marvel and DC team-up. There have been crossovers between the two brands in the comics before, but with the movie side of things, there is just too much competing interests between studios to make it happen. Thankfully, the team at Sky Cinema has edited together this epic and entertaining chase scene that unites the Marvel and DC heroes to take down a common enemy. Albeit one that doesn't seem like it would take this much muscle to deal with. The trailer was made to promote Sky CInema's collection of superhero movies available in the U.K.

The Sky Cinema trailer utilizes a chase scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, of all things, with Paul Giamatti's Aleksei Sytsevich, aka Rhino, behind the wheel of a large truck causing serious problems in the streets. Heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DCEU, the X-Men movies, Deadpool and, help us, even Green Lantern show up to try and stop the chaos. It's amazing how the editor manages to take all of these disparate elements and make them feel so cohesive. There are some very clever transitions used in order to make that happen.

Footage from Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Deadpool 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Thor: Ragnarok, The Dark Knight and several other titles are used to accomplish the amazing chase sequence. We even get a nice little inside joke, with Wade Wilson throwing some shade at Hal Jordan, since Ryan Reynolds played both roles. And, as virtually any comic book movie fan knows, Green Lantern is not exactly the gold standard. They even managed to work in one of Stan Lee's cameos, which fits in perfectly. It's pretty amazing how none of this feels overly shoehorned in. Thankfully, chase sequences are pretty standard in movies such as these, so there's a lot to work with. Which just proves how many Superhero movies Sky Cinema current has to offer comic book fans overseas, since they seem to have the full slate of Disney's MCU and Warner Bros. DCEU available.

Ultimately, it's Christian Bale's Batman from The Dark Knight who speeds in to save the day with the Batmobile. The tunnel sequence from when The Joker is trying to take out Harvey Dent during his transport is utilized. Again, for whatever reason, Rhino isn't someone that could have been handled by any one of these heroes. This is a villain Spider-Man is regularly able to handle on his own. It required one of the most ambitious team-ups ever to get the job done and the guy with precisely zero actual superpowers made it happen.

Perhaps that all needs to be set aside in order to enjoy something like this. And it should be set aside, because this is pretty cool. The universe this video builds is fascinating. It's one in which Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man works alongside The Avengers we've come to know. One where Bale's Batman is part of the DCEU. One where Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner transforms into Edward Norton's Hulk. How delightfully odd it all is. Be sure to check out the video for yourself from the Sky Cinema YouTube channel.
