Schlock is alive and well, and doing bang-up numbers on VOD. Especially when it comes to the killer shark genre, sometimes known as sharksploitation. Shark movies are a big booming business, and we aren't about to see the last of them. The fun continues in the upcoming Z grade thriller Sky Sharks. We have the first trailer for this anti-establishment thriller that pits undead American soldiers against nazi zombies. We also have an amazing set of 19 posters which introduce the zany characters housed in this bloody piece of filth cinema. Here is the official synopsis in all it's Drive-In glory.

"Deep in the ice of the Antarctic, a team of geologists uncover an old Nazi laboratory, still intact, where dark experiments had occurred. Unwittingly the geologists unleash upon the world a top-secret experiment the Germans had been working on - modified sharks that are able to fly, whose riders are genetically mutated, undead super-humans. The only thing that can stop them, and possibly save the world, is a military task force called "Dead Flesh Four" - assembled from reanimated U.S. soldiers who fell in Vietnam."

Undead Nazi superhuman warriors, zombie Vietnam vets and the great white sharks they like to ride around in the sky on. Every new bad movie tries desperately to outdo the last, and this doesn't look to be anything out of the norm for late night viewing. Though, you might need more than a six-pack to truly enjoy this delicious slice of cheese. It's got sharks that fly. That's pretty much all you need to sell tickets nowadays.

Though, the killer shark genre is coming extremely close to reaching its apex. This year, we're seeing shark movies in all shapes and sizes. Sony is releasing The Shallows on the bigger budget side of things, though its killer great white would fit right in with the Sky Sharks in terms of looks and believability. We'll be seeing Sharknado: The 4th Awakens on Syfy later this summer. And in the lower dregs of cinema wades the schlock masterpiece Shark Exorcist. Which of these shark movies will be remembered next year as a classic? We're not sure just yet.

Sky Sharks falls on the more interesting side of the spectrum in that flying great whites is just resting on the tip of this insanity iceberg. None of the other upcoming Shark movies can boast two different sets of living dead soldiers going to war. And horror icon Tony Todd shows up at some point in the proceedings, biding his time until the next Candy Man or Final Destination sequel gets off the ground. Sure it looks cheap and ridiculous. But come on, you know you want to watch Sky Sharks. Give in to temptation and check out this first trailer. And then ride along with the truly amazing poster gallery.
