Actress Gabrielle Union has signed on to star in the upcoming action-thriller Sleepless Night for Open Road Films. At the same time, she is also in talks to join the New Line Cinema comedy Keanu. The actress will first shoot Keanu in New Orleans this summer, before filming Sleepless Night, which will be shot on location in Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Sleepless Night is an American remake of the 2011 French thriller of the same name, which was directed by Frédéric Jardin. The story follows a corrupt cop (Jamie Foxx) who goes on a perilous mission to retrieve a bag of stolen cocaine, so he can save his son from a murderous crime boss, all while evading the boss' henchmen in a Las Vegas casino over one night. Michelle Monaghan also stars as an internal affairs officer who is hunting the dirty cop down, with Gabrielle Union playing the cop's ex-wife, who also figures into his plan to escape. Baran bo Odar (The Silence) is directing from a screenplay by Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton).

Keanu stars Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele as two friends who decide to pose as drug dealers to retrieve a stolen cat. Method Man also stars in an unspecified role, with Gabrielle Union set to play Keegan Michael Key's wife, who wishes her polite lawyer husband would assert himself more in their marriage. Peter Atencio, who has directed several episodes of Key & Peele, is directing from a script co-written by Jordan Peele and Alex Rubens. Gabrielle Union most recently starred in Think Like a Man Too, Top Five and the BET series Being Mary Jane.
