Kristen Stewart has entered into negotiations to star in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, where she would star as Snow White alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.
We reported last week that Kristen Stewart was circling the role. The studio offered her the role this weekend. Talks are still ongoing and the deal is nowhere near being finalized, but both parties are eager to make this happen. Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, and Alicia Vikander were among the other actresses vying for the part.
Rupert Sanders will direct Snow White and the Huntsman, which offers a different take on the classic tale. When Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is banished by the evil queen (Charlize Theron), she forms a bond with the Huntsman (Viggo Mortensen), who was sent to kill her. Instead, he becomes her mentor, teaching her how to fight and defend herself.
Snow White and the Huntsman will begin production sometime this summer.
