Sony Pictures Animation will release it's first computer animated film Open Season September 29. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio and video game publisher Ubisoft, will be releasing the video game version shortly before the movie's opening. Open Season co-director Tony Stacchi said that new advances in video game and CGI technology have allowed filmmakers and video game creators to work closely on crossing the intellectual property across media.

Based on the humor of cartoonist Steve Moore ("In the Bleachers"), Open Season revolves around a domesticated grizzly bear (voiced by Martin Lawrence) and a smart-alecky wild mule deer (Ashton Kutcher) and how they must cooperate if the animals are going to prevail over hunters.
