‘Spider-Man 2: Extended Edition’ DVD Coming in April

DavisDVD reports that the long standing rumors of an extended edition of Spider-Man 2 are finally true.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Spider-Man 2: Extended Edition in late April, timed to coincide with the web-slinger's latest big-screen adventure Spider-Man 3.

The site says that no details about the disc are available yet, but they anticipate more information in about a month (if that). If you can't wait that long, however, Fox-owned cable network FX will premiere the new extended cut on January 2nd, 2007 at 7:00PM EST/PST.

The FX broadcast also will include all-new sneak peek footage at the upcoming sequel.

Spider-Man 2 was released June 30th, 2004.

Spider-Man 3 was released May 4th, 2007.
