We've heard rumors over the last few months that Marvel and Sony's new Spider-Man movie will be called Spectacular Spider-Man, which certainly would make sense since there is a comic book series with that title. Still, we don't have an official title yet, or any story information, aside from the fact that both studios are looking for teenage actors to play Peter Parker. Today, we have a new rumor from El Mayimbe, who claims that the working title is actually Spider-Man: The New Avenger. Here's what he had to say below.

"#UNCONFIRMED #RUMOR Take with the tiniest grain of salt pending further confirmation. I'm being told the working title for the untitled SPIDER-MAN stand alone film is SPIDER-MAN:THE NEW AVENGER Again, it's Sunday so take with grain pending further confirmation. What do you think of title? #Spiderman #marvel #MCU #marvelcomics #marvelmovies"

While there has been plenty of speculation as to whether or not this new Spider-Man will appear in any future Marvel movies, such as Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, the character has only been confirmed to appear in one Marvel movie, most likely Captain America: Civil War, before the stand alone Spider-Man movie hits theaters in July 2017. Given the fact that this massive story has to be told in two parts, there certainly should be room for the beloved character as Earth's Mightiest Heroes square off against the villainous Thanos (Josh Brolin).

In related news, we reported last week that Marvel and Sony's casting search for the new Peter Parker has been narrowed down to five actors. The short list reportedly includes Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothée Chalamet and Liam James, although it was also said that other actors continue to be in the mix for this coveted role. One of those contenders could be 19-year-old Billy Unger, who stars on the Disney XD show Lab Rats. The actor tweeted out a photo of himself at the red carpet premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron, where he included the #SpiderMan hashtag, leading to speculation that he may be in the running for this role. The actor has spent the past several days retweeting fans who are calling for the actor to be cast as the new Spidey, along with a few other tweets where he addresses the casting. Do you think Billy Unger could be a good choice for Spider-Man? Check out his tweets below, and stay tuned for more information on Spider-Man, with Marvel and Sony expected to announce who will play him in the next two weeks.
