For the third time in under 15 years, a new Spider-Man was introduced to big-screen audiences, with Tom Holland following in Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's footsteps in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously teased that he has "big plans" for Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which certainly seems to be true, now that Tom Holland has revealed he has signed on for six Marvel movies. Here's what the young actor had to say in a new interview below.

"They give you options, and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers. I'm unclear as to which movies, though. I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They're very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other."

Just a few weeks ago, Tom Holland teased that he may or may not appear in Avengers: Infinity War, which starts shooting in January. The young actor says he thinks a deal is "in the mix," but he's not sure what will be a part of said deal. During this new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland also spoke about how he learned about winning the Peter Parker role through social media.

"I was in my bed scrolling through Instagram. It had been about a month since my audition. And Marvel just posted a photo saying go to our website and find out who the next Spider-Man is. I went on the Marvel website on my computer and there it was: The new Spider-Man is Tom Holland. I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts."

There had been rumors that Spider-Man: Homecoming kicks off a new trilogy, which would represent the "solo movies," but we're not sure what the "Spider-Man movies," which are likely just movies Spider-Man appears in, will be. It was rumored that Spider-Man: Homecoming and each of its sequels will represent one year of high school apiece, following his entire high school career. Stay tuned for more on Spider-Man: Homecoming as we get closer to the July 7, 2017 release date.
