Spike Lee is set to go back to World War II once more, but in a much different capacity. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee will develop Brandon Koerner's non-fiction book Now the Hell Will Start into a feature film under his 40 Acres and a Mule banner.

Koerner's book, which was published by Penguin last summer, tells the tale of Private Herman Perry, a black soldier who went on the lam in the Indo-Burmese jungle after shooting a fellow soldier and eventually became acclimated with the jungle and tribal culture.

It isn't clear whether Lee will direct the film or not, as of yet. Lee recently took on a different World War II tale with his Miracle at St. Anna.

No production schedule was released.
