If you've seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in IMAX, you most likely also saw the first 9-minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness. This opening prologue gives us our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch's villain John Harrison, a man who promises to bring a sick child back to health. These dark moments quickly segue into a jaunty run through a bright red alien forest as Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), and Bones (Karl Urban) attempt to deactivate a volcano on the verge of eruption. It's full of stirring adventure and space action, something the original Star Trek wasn't known for. It's quite thrilling. If you don't want to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in theaters, you can watch the bootleg here. It involves a giant space ice cube and plenty of running.
