Vanity Fair continues the Star Wars Day excitement by releasing a new photo of Captain Phasma in her Chrome Trooper costume. While it has long been suspected that Gwendoline Christie is playing this villain of the Galactic Empire, now known as the The First Order, these are the first official details we've heard regarding this particular new character. And the photo also confirms rumors of an attack on a castle at some point in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Captain Phasma is a First Order officer. In this latest image from the movie, she is seen surveying the rubble following an attack on an ancient castle, which you can see in the back ground. No other details about the attack have been revealed at this time. Is this where Luke Skywalker is hiding? And what is Phasma's true mission?

During Star Wars Celebration, a number of photos and posters featuring Captain Phasma were released, some of which show her standing next to Sith villain Kylo Ren, who was confirmed earlier today to be played by Adam Driver. Though rumored for months to be playing Phasma, this is the first official confirmation of her character's name. It's believed that she is eager to hunt down an AWOL stormtrooper played by John Boyega and make him pay for his transgressions against the First Order. But there may be more to her story. If you go back and watch the Star Wars Celebration teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you will see Captain Phasma in action. For now, take a look at Gwendoline Christie in her shiny First Order costume:
