Star Wars: The Force Awakens is almost here - and now you can get an up-close look at the film's classic and new characters. The official character posters for Rey (Daisy Ridley), Leia (Carrie Fisher), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Finn (John Boyega) were revealed today, featuring powerful portraits and a striking design motif. Rey holds her staff defiantly; Leia confidently peers through a data screen; Kylo Ren's lightsaber crackles; a grim Han Solo holds his blaster at the ready; and Finn looks stoic with a blue-bladed Jedi weapon.

Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega each revealed their own posters via Twitter and Instagram. We still have just over one month until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters, so hopefully this is just the first wave of character posters. What remains to be seen is if Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker will finally be revealed for the first time through these posters.

Luke Skywalker is one of the few characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens who hasn't been revealed at all in any of the trailers or photos thus far. Director J.J. Abrams revealed last month that he has been purposefully hiding the Jedi master from fans, and it seems that we won't get to see him at all until this highly-anticipated adventure hits theaters next month. While Luke isn't featured in the posters, Carrie Fisher's cryptic tweet revealing her Leia poster did mention Leia's brother.

"Oh Luke, don't ask for the moon, we have the force."

What does this mean? We have no clue at the moment, but there have been plenty of rumors about Luke's whereabouts over the past few years. Some have claimed Luke has joined the Dark Side of The Force, while others claim he has put himself into exile, after accomplishing something incredibly powerful by using The Force. For now, Luke's fate will remain a mystery, but these posters also call attention to another mystery regarding Finn.

Finn's poster once again shows this character wielding a light saber, which we've seen in previous posters and the most recent trailer. Many believe that this is a sign he is training to become a Jedi, but we saw that he isn't actually part of the Jedi order with the reveal of Topps trading cards. However, these cards did reveal that Finn's new friend Rey is part of the Jedi, although we have yet to see her wield a light saber yet. J.J. Abrams' confirmed in a previous interview that this blue lightsaber Finn wields actually belongs to Luke Skywalker, the one handed down to him by Obi Wan Kenobi that was lost during Luke's climatic battle with Darth Vader in Cloud City. While we wait for more details on this highly-anticipated adventure, check out the first wave of character posters, and stay tuned for more on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
