Last week, an unconfirmed report revealed a number of new details regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which have yet to be confirmed but offer a number of intriguing details if proven to be true. Part of that story claimed that Domhnall Gleeson is playing the son of a major character, who was part of the Rebel Alliance, but he defected to the Empire after learning the Rebels were making a mysterious weapon. This character is on a secret mission to destroy both of the super weapons being made by both the Rebels and the Empire, but now according to a new report at Making Star Wars, we have even more details on this integral character. There may be spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.

This report claims that Domhnall Gleeson's character is actually the son of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The site claims that they have heard from four separate sources that the actor is Luke Skywalker's son. The character is supposedly playing both sides, reportedly tasked with finding the AWOL Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega), and he reports to the villains. The site reveals that he is destroying the weapons on both sides because they "should not be allowed to exist according to his internal moral compass." Here's an excerpt from the site's story which explains more about the actor's character.

"The implications of Gleeson's actions are supposedly huge in the film. He began this mission before his father went missing. When he succeeds in ending the Intergalactic Cold War by stopping the weapons of galaxy wide destruction he doesn't anticipate the immediate consequences. The cost? He opens up a new front and the war turns hot as there is nothing to keep the peace with mutually assured destruction no longer on the table. The real war then begins and the fight for the control of planets and territory begins, causing a conflict the storytellers hope will lead to countless Star Wars tales for years to come."

Some sources claim that this character "going rogue" may be part of a master plan that was put in place before the events of the film start. Naturally, none of this has been confirmed yet, since no official story details for Star Wars: The Force Awakens have been released. Do you think Domhnall Gleeson is playing Luke Skywalker's son?
