Last month, LucasFilm confirmed that it is bringing Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Comic-Con with a Hall H panel on Friday, July 10 featuring producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan and a number of "special guests." It was assumed by many that the filmmakers would present a new trailer or some type of footage at the panel, but it seems that is not the case, with Entertainment Weekly reporting that the panel will not include a trailer or previously-unreleased footage. The next trailer will be released sometime this fall, according to the report.

Instead, fans will be treated to a "behind-the scenes look" at the film, which was shrouded in secrecy ever since production began last year at Pinewood Studios in London. It was also revealed that several Star Wars: The Force Awakens actors, who have not spoken publicly about their roles yet, will be on hand for the panel presentation, although it wasn't confirmed who exactly will be popping up in San Diego. There are numerous Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast members who haven't spoken publicly about their roles, such as Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), who will already be in town for the Game of Thrones panel, and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren). The panel will be moderated by Chris Hardwick, and we'll be sure to keep youp posted on any updates regarding this highly-anticipated event.

If Disney and LucasFilm don't plan on unveiling a new trailer until the fall, that means that the Star Wars trailer won't debut it at Disney's D23 convention either, which takes place August 14 through August 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim California. It's possible that the studio could debut the first clip at D23, but we don't know that for sure. Are you disappointed that there won't be any footage shown from Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Comic-Con?
