With just under 10 months until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters, Disney and LucasFilm still haven't given fans any official plot description, and all we have to go on is the first teaser trailer that debuted in late November. While we wait for the first full-length trailer and confirmed plot details, yet another unconfirmed rumor has surfaced from Making Star Wars, which reveals the opening sequences of director J.J. Abrams' sci-fi adventure. There will be potential SPOILERS from here on out, so read on at your own risk.

One of the early Star Wars rumors revealed that the movie opened with a severed hand and a lightsaber falling through space before landing in a desert, where the hand and lightsaber are found by Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley). Subsequent reports claim that the severed hand is not a part of this scene, which is backed up by this new report that reveals the movie does open with a lightsaber falling through space, landing in a "savannah environment" during the day. The weapon is found by a farmer named Naka, who ignites it and accidentally starts a fire. Naka takes the weapon to a character known as The Vicar, who is presumably the character played by Max von Sydow.

The Vicar contacts the Rebels, which brings the X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) to the planet, although he is ultimately followed by the Empire. After seeing a wave of Stormtroopers, Poe puts the lightsaber in the ball droid BB-8, and sends him on his way as he fights off the Stormtroopers. At the same time, Stormtrooper Finn just watched his best friend die in battle, and also let a few innocent villagers escape unharmed. This causes Kylo Ren to throw Finn in the brig, where he meets Poe Dameron. There have been previous reports that Finn and Dameron team up to escape the brig and steal a TIE Fighter, which appear to be true, according to this report.
