After being shrouded in secrecy for several months, Disney and LucasFilm recently revealed that the first Star Wars spinoff, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, will focus on a group of rebels on a mission to steal plans for the first Death Star. While we still don't have any confirmed details about the second Star Wars Spin-Off, a new report claims that the plot will center on the origin story of famed bounty hunter Boba Fett. While the character has not been cast yet, there were rumors earlier this year that Disney and LucasFilm are eyeing Michael Fassbender to play Boba Fett, but that has never been confirmed.

In the original Star Wars trilogy, Boba Fett was played by Jeremy Bulloch, with Daniel Logan playing Boba as a young boy in the prequel Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Boba is a Mandalorian warrior who was trained by Jango Fett, played by Temuera Morrison in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, who worked for the Empire and Darth Vader, but perhaps his most memorable assignment was for Jabba the Hut, who tasked him with capturing Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Ironically, it was previously rumored that both Boba Fett and Han Solo may be featured in the first anthology movie, which was never confirmed.

Josh Trank was originally set to direct this anthology film, but he backed away from the project on Friday, with Disney and LucasFilm currently seeking a new director. Writer-producer Simon Kinberg has been heavily involved with the spinoff's development, but it isn't known if he is actually writing the screenplay, or if he will serve as a producer.
