Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One has added yet another cast member with Diego Luna signing on for the highly-anticipated spinoff. Actor Ben Mendelsohn, who has long been rumored to to star, has now been confirmed to play the primary villain. They join a cast that already includes Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed and Sam Claflin.

The story revolves around a group of rebel fighters who embark on a mission to steal plans for the original Death Star. The story will take place between the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but closer chronologically to the latter film. Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed and Diego Luna are all said to be playing rebel fighters, but it isn't known who Sam Claflin is playing quite yet.

Production is scheduled to begin this summer at Pinewood Studios in London, under the direction of Gareth Edwards. It isn't known how many more roles are left to be cast, but the production is believed to feature a large ensemble cast, similar to The Dirty Dozen and Saving Private Ryan. Diego Luna most recently starred in Elysium and The Book of Life, and he will next be seen in The Bad Batch. He also starred in and directed Cesar Chavez, and appears alongside Mel Gibson in Blood Father.
