As production continues in London on the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII, British actress Christina Chong has joined the cast.

No details were given for her character, although it is said to be a minor role. She joins a cast that already includes franchise veterans such as Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels, alongside newcomers such as John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Max von Sydow, Oscar Isaac, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis.

J.J. Abrams is directing from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan.

Christina Chong most recently starred in Fox's 24: Live Another Day, and she has also landed a lead role on Sergio Mimica-Gezzan's Halo: Nightfall digital feature. Her feature credits include Johnny English Reborn and W.E.
