As believed to be true, Disney and Lucasfilm are saving their big Star Wars: Episode VII casting announcements for the D23 Expo, which happens August 9-11 in Anaheim, California, home of Disneyland, instead of having revealed the information at Comic-Con this past week.

Production is expected to start in early 2014 for a 2015 release date, with live-action shooting scheduled to happen in the UK at Pinewood Studios on a film that will take place after the events seen in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. While no story details have been revealed at this time, a source close to the production has leaked some new, interesting information about two characters that will be in the movie, and who is being sought to play them.

This news comes from Latino Review, who previously reported that Leonardo DiCaprio had come in for a meeting but bailed to do the Robotech movie instead.

Now, they are reporting that past Disney alumni Ryan Gosling (The Mickey Mouse Club) and Zac Efron (High School Musical) are both wanted for Star Wars: Episode VII in two of the lead roles. It is not known whom they will be playing, but its being stated as fact that one of the actors has already taken a meeting with Lucasfilm and Disney.

The speculation is that Ryan Gosling is being sought to play Luke Skywalker's kid, while Zac Efron will play Han Solo's kid. The film is rumored to be taking place exactly 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.
