Last month, Disney used a very unique platform to debut the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ESPN's Monday Night Football. The studio broadened its promotional efforts for Star Wars: The Force Awakens even further tonight, when a new sneak peak aired during ABC's Thursday night lineup of Shonda Rhimes-created shows, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder. The stars from each show shared their own thoughts on this beloved franchise, before the new trailer debuted during How to Get Away with Murder, which you can check out below.

While some of the footage is recycled from previous trailers, we do get a few new bits and pieces. We see what appears to be the first meeting between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega), who are seen fleeing as TIE Fighters attack. Rey also helps Finn up and tells her to follow him, but where they may be heading is uncertain. This trailer also gave us a new look at Harrison Ford's Han Solo, who hands a never-before-seen blaster to Rey, telling her that she may need it. We know that Rey, Finn, Han and Chewbacca team up at some point, but does this scene tease that they may split up at some point? We don't know for sure, but maybe we'll find out when the next clip arrives.

This move is just the latest bit of corporate synergy employed by Disney. The final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted during halftime of Monday Night Football, which airs on the Disney-owned ESPN network. Back in March, Marvel also released a trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron during an episode of ABC's American Crime. The studio has also had plenty of tie-ins for the Marvel Cinematic Universe on ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel's Agent Carter. It's not surprising that Disney is using its popular "TGIT" lineup on ABC to promote Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This footage comes just one day after a slew of Star Wars: The Force Awakens photos and story details were released through Entertainment Weekly's expansive coverage. Not only did EW reveal four magazine covers, but we also got a slew of new photos, details about Luke Skywalker, the First Order and even Leia's new title. What remains to be seen is, with just 35 days left until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters, how much more footage will we get?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will introduce three new heroes into the Star Wars universe, John Boyega's Finn, Daisy Ridley's Rey and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron, along with Adam Driver's villainous Kylo Ren. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Carrie Fisher are also reprising their iconic roles from the original trilogy, although very little is known about their characters. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens supporting cast includes Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke and Max von Sydow as an unidentified character.

J.J. Abrams directs Star Wars: The Force Awakens from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. What do you think of this new footage?
