When it comes to the massive worlds that fit within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars universe, the possibilities are endless, in regards to the types of stories one could come up with. Since both brands are owned by Disney, the potential for any kind of crossover between the MCU and the galaxy far, far away is there, but we don't know if the studio will decide to explore those possibilities at all. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to start its massive Phase Three next year with Captain America: Civil War, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens will kick off a new trilogy and set of anthology films. With all of that being said, one of the MCU stars, Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista, would love to see some of the Guardians cross over into the Star Wars universe.

"We always thought it would be so great if Drax or even Rocket or Groot just showed up in a Star Wars film. We just thought that would be so great. Just a cameo, no dialogue, just passing a scene, maybe a bar scene where Drax and Rocket are just having a drink. It would be so great."

Of course, a scene like this would be an incredible Easter Egg, especially if these Guardians aren't the focal point of the shot. While most fans likely wouldn't notice it while watching the movie for the first time, it would be a fun discovery for fans of both franchises. Still, given that these are completely separate universes, the inclusion of Drax, Groot or Rocket could anger die-hard Star Wars fans as well.

Dave Bautista also mentioned the possibility of the Guardians joining forces with The Avengers at some point. After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters in May 2017, it isn't known if the studio plans on bringing these intergalactic characters into battle with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Avengers: Infinity War - Part II. A third Guardians movie is certainly possible as well, provided Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 pulls in impressive numbers at the box office, but as of now, we know nothing about the studio's Phase Four slate.

What are your thoughts on the Guardians of the Galaxy potentially crossing over with the Star Wars universe? Since the Guardians represent the cosmic side of the MCU, their characters crossing over with Star Wars is much more plausible than any other heroes or villains in the MCU, and with both brands under the Disney banner, it very well could happen. Do you think it would be fun to see Rocket, Groot and Drax having a drink at the Mos Eisley Cantina? Take a look at Dave Bautista's video interview below, and stay tuned for more on both of these franchises.
