Last summer, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was sweeping the nation, with celebrities and non-celebrities alike dousing themselves with buckets of ice water to support ALS. The cast and crew of this year's highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens even got in in the fun, with a slew of videos posted from the set by Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill and director J.J. Abrams. This year, a new charitable sensation has arrived entitled "The Twizzler Challenge," which supports autism awareness throughout the month of April, which J.J. Abrams has participated in, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel.

On the April 1 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host performed the Twizzler Challenge with his guest Rihanna. Those who are challenged must submit a video showing them eating a Twizzler in the same fashion as the iconic spaghetti scene in the Disney animated classic Lady and the Tramp. Like the Ice Bucket Challenge, each duo must challenge two more people, and Jimmy Kimmel challenged both J.J. Abrams and the wookie Chewbacca, and you can see what happens in the video below, which aired on last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. After completing his challenge, J.J. Abrams challenged both Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s Guillermo Rodriguez.

The Twizzler Challenge actually started on Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars, where a Twitter user challenged Today's Willie Geist and Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba to re-enact the famous Lady and the Tramp scene on the telecast by using a Twizzler. Meredith Vieira then brought Willie Geist on her show to re-enact the scene again, calling it "The Twizzler Challenge," in conjunction with New York Collaborates for Autism (NYCA), which raises funds to support autism schools, programs and services across the country.
