Will the Star Wars marathon happening on December 17 include all 7 movies in 3D? A new Fandango listing teases the marathon as a 3D event. It is set to take place on December 17th, the day before Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens nationwide. If this is true, it will be the first time the original trilogy has been shown in 3D anywhere.

While tickets are rumored to go on sale for both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the Star Wars marathon this Monday, October 19, no official confirmation has come from either Disney or Lucasfilm. We're reportedly supposed to get the third and final teaser trailer on that date as well. And if everything happens as we've heard, Sunday, October 18 will bring the official one-sheet poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is rumored to introduce a unique logo for the movie, which will then be seen all over the world on the second wave of merchandise hitting shelves and online retailers throughout the months of November and December.

While no theaters have officially confirmed a Star Wars marathon is happening, this Fandango placeholder page is a pretty good indication. It is, after all, called the Star Wars Marathon page. And it has a very cool, yet very tiny, poster featuring the titles of all 7 movies, including Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The tagline of this tiny image reads, 'All seven movies. One epic journey.' Aside from that, though, there is zero other information.

The Star Wars Marathon will be something most fans will want to attend, if all 7 movies are being presented in 3D. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was the only movie to be re-released in theaters in 3D, arriving in February 2012. Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith were to follow, but that never happened. Though, the prequel trilogy was screened for fans in 3D at this years Star Wars Celebration. LucasFilm and Disney canceled their original 3D plans following the announcement of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was long said that Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi were getting converted to 3D, but those plans were also scrapped. If this placeholder page is true, this will be the first time these original films have ever screened in the format.

The Star Wars Marathon is rumored to start at 4 am in the morning. It will run through until 7 pm at night on Thursday, December 17. That's when Star Wars: The Force Awakens will make its world debut. While it looks like Fandango will certainly be having a Star Wars Marathon, its expected that AMC theaters will follow suite, though we've seen no official confirmation of that. This will be a limited run, once-in-a-lifetime offer. If tickets are truly going on sale this Monday, October 19, you better get your fingers ready and your keyboard greased up. You'll want to move quickly to secure your place in line.
